Aardvark, the uniquely African search animal, originated in the African bush and was brought on-line February 1997.

Aardvark has grown rapidly since its inception and has helped many browsers find the information they need about Africa.

What is an Aardvark ?

The aardvark is a shy, nocturnal animal known for its ability to sniff out tiny ants in large ant heaps. We recognised the ability to track small tasty bites from the plethora of information available on the World Wide Web in our search engine, so we decided to call it Aardvark.
